A chocolate boutique next to Casa Milà, where 19th-century stone meets layered warmth and glazed brown.

A heritage-listed 19th-century building next to Antoni Gaudí's iconic Casa Milà. Time and history, the magical world of chocolate, and several motifs from Gaudí's own work served as inspiration for the project.

The first decision was to expose the original stone walls and layer the new elements over them, letting the history of the place show through. The aim was to create an interior of warm, toasted colours, with reflections and gleams playing across the surfaces.

Glazed and toasted browns, vitrified surfaces, bronze details, and wood — a palette that alludes to melting chocolate and traces its journey from flower to bean to bar.

Prefabricated elements combine with handcrafted details made from our own drawings — the glazed ceramic beans and flowers, the various custom light fixtures.

The interior terrace is treated as a green tropical oasis: abundant vegetation, green tones, floral upholstery patterns, and stone textures.

How it was
actually built.

Managing this construction was a real challenge — a tight schedule combined with the need to fabricate many custom elements made specifically for the project.

While the initial demolition was underway and the old stone walls were being stripped and cleaned, decorative elements and furniture were already being produced in parallel.

Ceramic beans and flowers made by artisans from our drawings and plans; a perimeter bench with different upholstery types; shelving custom-built for the manufacturer's product; various lighting pieces fabricated by the construction team itself, following project specifications.
