Two identical, but different houses. With the same starting scheme, each house changes depending on its location — the views, the orientation, the topography — and the variations in the way each family uses the space.
The site is characterised by sea views, pine forests, and hills dotted with vineyards: two adjoining plots for two houses, for two families of twin brothers.
The project consists of a grouping of volumes that correspond to different parts of the programme. These are displaced among themselves to adapt to the terrain and create an outdoor space for each room. Through displacements and rotations, views are maximised, different platforms emerge at different levels, and the relationship between inside and outside is enriched. Each room has its own secluded garden, allowing different uses of the plot throughout the year.
The use of traditional materials — Klinker bricks and wood — anchors the houses into their context.
The landscape project was equally central. With a steep slope and a soil that is not particularly cohesive, several challenges emerged. The choice was to consolidate the land with as few retaining walls as possible, opting for hydroseeding on organic stabilisation blankets over carefully selected native species. The garden itself is Mediterranean in character, drawing on the biodiversity of the nearby Montnegre, Corredor, Litoral and Marina natural reserves. Local plants reduce water needs while supporting the natural balance of the region. The small patio leading to the entrance receives a more formal treatment — a play of shapes and shades around a single magnolia.
